Halloween night on a college campus. MARABELLE, dressed as a scarecrow in a raincoat, lays down in the college center and refuses to move. After a confrontation by stranger KODA, a self-proclaimed “guardian angel”, will she choose to stand back up or to continue her protest against existence?

As my Senior Thesis project of college, I knew I wouldn't have everything figured out and prepared myself to learn a lot throughout the making of this film, but I did not expect the sheer amount of things that could go wrong at once. In every instance I came back to these three ideas - empathy for the people I worked with, persistence in the face of obstacles, and adapting to the changing environment around me. We came out on the other side with a film we all love and are proud of.

A documentary self-portrait, film poem, focusing on experiences with mental health, specifically as they relate to dissociation and escapism. The film is told in segments of poetry and streams of consciousness that progressively challenge structure to bring viewers into the narrator’s perception of reality.

EXPERIMENTATION
The pandemic and isolation hit the world very abruptly. Personally, I felt creatively stuck and unable to express myself. With the advice of my professors and peers I decided to find freedom in how I was feeling and speak as honestly as possible in my art. The result is a self-portrait film that will forever hold a special place in my heart. I learned that honesty in art doesn't have to be neat or structured, it can take whatever chaotic form it needs to.

What if there was a potion that could turn you into a mermaid?
MARNIE is a young girl in need of a change - something to take her away from the stagnation and loneliness of everyday life. What could be better than a potion from the internet promising a once in a lifetime transformation?

Project Echo (2020)
This short is where I found my passion and voice. I allowed myself to experiment with visuals and tied pieces of my own emotional experiences into the main character.
Test Subject #002 enters a dark room and answers an unidentified voice's questions as honestly as she can. The more she speaks the more intimate those questions and the experience become. Is there a limit to what she will reveal?
